The Clinton Prairie School Corporation Board of Trustees unanimously approved construction bids presented by Tecton Construction Management, Inc. for a total of $4,796,960 at a special board meeting held on Monday, March 11, 2024.  This construction project will be financed through a $6,350,000 non controlled project.  Renovations and work to be completed as part of this project include

  • A four classroom addition at Clinton Prairie Elementary School

  • Classroom renovations at Clinton Prairie Elementary school to accommodate Kindergarten classes

  • Renovations to the Auditorium to address updates in lighting, sound, rigging, acoustics, and video needs.

  • Expansion and Renovation of the Clinton Prairie Jr./Sr High School administration office including School safety updates.

CPSC also recently approved a $1,325,000 General Obligation Bond to replace the aging HVAC Chiller System.

“The School Board has put in a great deal of work over the past year to get us to this point.  It has always been the top priority of the board to address the safety and well being of our students and staff while remaining fiscally responsible,” said Superintendent Scott Miller.  “These projects will be tax neutral, this means our tax payers will not see an increase to their property taxes in order for these projects to be completed.”

“Achieving that goal has not been easy,” Miller added.  “Construction costs have increased dramatically over the last couple of years.  We started with a list of items for this project that Tecton Construction Management helped us prioritize and trim down to meet a budget that we were comfortable with.  CPSC is pleased with the bids we have received and we are eager to break ground on this project.

New Construction and Renovation will begin by April 1, 2024 and is scheduled to last through the summer of 2025.  “The 2024-2025 school year will certainly be interesting as we navigate the challenges that construction and renovation will bring to our campus, particularly while school is in session.” Miller stated. “We are confident that we have chosen the right partner in Tecton Construction to help complete this project.  We are excited to get started!”
